Mortgage Ledger is a free tool for working out what a home loan actually costs — the monthly payment, the total interest over the life of the loan, and how much an extra payment here or there changes the picture. No account, no email gate, no upsell to a lender.

Who's behind it

This site is independently run and isn't affiliated with any bank, lender, or mortgage broker. It doesn't originate loans, collect applications, or sell leads — it's a planning tool, built to be used before you talk to a lender, not instead of one.

What it does — and doesn't — cover

The calculator handles principal and interest on a standard fixed-rate loan, compounded monthly, including the effect of extra principal payments. It does not include property taxes, homeowner's insurance, PMI, HOA dues, or closing costs, and it doesn't model adjustable-rate mortgages. Treat the numbers as a close estimate for planning, not a binding quote.
